Three 2022 made Funch 22" rides played back to back. First is TW tribute 2447 gr, second is Kenny Washington tribute 2592 gr. Third is Classic 2458 gr.

14" x 4" cast steel (3 mm) from Finnish drum maker Sorva. Couple of different tunings. I also have 7" deep version, and I can't decide which one is better. Both fantastic instruments!

Canopus Zelkova, a snare drum carved out from a log of japanese red tree. No glue, no bending, just solid piece of wood.

Accents to drags to 4 stroke ruff. Same basic rhythm but changing ornaments.

Testing this fantastic mahogany stave drum, made in Finland by carpenter Sampo Leppävuori. 4 different tunings, and 2 different batter heads, Remo CS and Ambassador. REALLY enjoying the combination of fast attack of stave shell and underlying body that mahogany provides. Top notch craftsmanship all around. Can't really find weaknesses on this one. Definitely not a drum for every situation (But ...

This approach had helped me a lot when trying to master those one handed 16th note beats with hihat openings, à la James Gadson, Clyde Stubblefield etc. Pardon the mobile phone recording not having the best sound. Anyway, hope you find this helpful too.
